Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kāpēc Latvijas mediji ievieto slēpto reklāmu, kas ir šo reklāmu pasūtītāji un sagatavotāji. Lielākā daļa no pētījumā intervētajiem profesionāļiem ļoti precīzi un vienoti uzskata, ka slēptā reklāma ir neapzīmēta, kādam izdevīgas informācijas publicēšana, ja par to ir saņemta samaksa, bet auditorijai nav iespējamas šo saturu atšķirt no redakcijas veidota satura.

Pētījuma laikā veiktas 20 intervijas, kuru respondenti bija daţādu mediju galvenie redaktori, žurnālisti, producenti, satura direktori, reklāmas direktori, reklāmas aģentūru pārstāvji, sabiedrisko attiecību aģentūru pārstāvji.
Pētījuma datu apkopojumu veido 7 nodaļas, kas secīgi izskaidro dažādus ar slēpto reklāmu saistītus aspektus: mediju organizāciju un reklāmas industrijas pārstāvju izpratne par slēpto reklāmu; slēptās reklāmas vērtējums; politiskās slēptās reklāmas īpatnības; slēptās efektivitātes jautājums; slēptās reklāmas prakses vēsture; slēptās reklāmas formas un saturs; slēptās reklāmas parādīšanās ceļi; slēptās reklāmas veidotāji; slēptā reklāma un žurnālistikas kvalitāte; slēptās reklāmas apmaksas sistēma; slēptās reklāmas kontroles un novēršanas sistēmas; slēptā reklāma un auditorija.
