The European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) label awarded to municipalities in Latvia

The European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) is a label that is awarded to municipalities which have achieved a high level of good governance measured against a Council of Europe benchmark.

ELOGE in Latvia was implemented by the first time at 2022 and managed by acredited institution – association “Centre for Public Policy Providus”. The implementation process started in 2022 and ended in May 2023 with the awarding ceremony.
11 municipalities (out from 43 municipalities) applied to participate in the activity, 7 municipalities finished the self-evaluation process and 5 municipalities qualified for the European Governance Excellence Label and received the award:
1) Bauska Municipality,
2) Cesis Municipality,
3) Jelgava Municipality,
4) Liepaja State City,
5) Valmiera Municipality.Two municipalities did not qualify for the European Governance Excellence Label and did not receive the award –  Preiļi municipality and  Jēkabpils municipality.
