On February 10, 2023 Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS organized an online conference “Participatory budgeting in Latvia: A step towards broader citizen engagement”.

The first panel discussion of the conference was dedicated to presenting & discussing municipal experience with introducing and running participatory budgeting in the respective municipalities.

Discussion’s participants:

• Ilona Stalidzāne, Head of the Neighbourhood Development of the Riga City Neighbourhood Residents Centre
• Zane Pūcīte, Project Manager at the Development and Projects Department of Gulbene Municipality
• Ginta Andersone, Head of the Development Department at Saldus Municipality

The conference was supported by Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Latvia as a part of the project “Latvijas pašvaldību kapacitātes stiprināšana līdzdalības budžeta ieviešanai”.
