The aim of the project is to identify the situation of civic activism in Latgale region by mapping the coverage of non-governmental organisations in Latgale municipalities and public motivation to participate in local democracy in order to promote public participation and social resilience in the region.

The project will implement the following activities:

1. Study on public participation activity in Latgale region: mapping of NGOs and motivation for participation.
2. Training for local authorities to introduce new participatory instruments (participatory budget, local citizens’ councils). Training will be provided according to the needs and demand of the municipalities.
3. Public conference on Latgale’s civil society from the perspective of social resilience. The conference will take place in November 2023.
4. A short final document on the results of the conference.
