PROVIDUS and and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung invites to its annual Public Policy Forum Migration Policies: Competing for Talent on 4 December 2017 at Oracule Tang Space, Riga from 14:00-17:15.
What are the existing and potential benefits of migration?
How does migration diversify country’s economy and society?
The Forum will feature an opening speech by Dr Aija Lulle (Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Sussex (UK) and the University of Eastern Finland) Migration and Competitiveness: Maximizing opportunities for states, regions, businesses, and individuals.
Two panel discussions will follow:
Panel Discussion I Successes and Failures of Policies
Policy experts and representatives of employers and universities will discuss the successes and failures of policies aimed at attracting certain types of immigrants, looking at cases of Germany, Estonia and Latvia.

Panel Discussion II Migration – Lifeline of Innovation
Representatives of various industries – journalism, HoReCa, start-ups, academia – will discuss the benefits of immigration in diversifying their modes of existence and performance in Latvia.
