Dace Akule is the former director of PROVIDUS and an expert in public policy in the areas of EU good governance, migration and cohesive societies. She is also experienced in strategic communications, change management, fundraising and other issues of sustainable development.
In voluntary capacity Dace continues serving in the Foreign affairs council chaired by the Latvian Minister of Foreign affairs. She has also served in the Council overseeing the implementation of integration policy chaired by the Latvian Minister of Culture. In 2012-2013 she chaired the task force of the Latvian Ministry of Economy drafting the first policy document later adopted by the government to enhance the return of Latvian diaspora. In February 2012 she held Citizens' Consultations on Integration to enhance a consensus-based public debate shaping a more cohesive society in Latvia. Dace is the author, co-author and editor of various research papers and publications.
She has a Master degree in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Paul H.Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, the Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor degree in communications from the University of Latvia.
