On participatory budgeting.
On June 29, 2018 the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS (during the conversation festival LAMPA) organized a workshop on participatory budgeting.
Participatory budgeting is a democratic process in which community members directly decide how to spend a certain proportion of a public budget. During the workshop lecturers – Kristina Reinsalu from the E-Governance Academy (Estonia) and Robert Bjarnson from the Citizens Foundation (Iceland) – shared their experience of implementing participatory budgeting in Tartu and Reykjavik respectively. More about the PB can be found in this infographic.
