On October 18th, 2019 the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS supported by the Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Riga and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development is organising a conference on citizen engagement and participatory budgeting Public Engagement in Local Municipalities: Development and Innovations in Latvia and Europe.

Conference is organised in three main parts. Firstly, the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS will present an overview on the best case examples of citizen engagement in Latvia’s municipalities. Secondly, a panel-discussion on participatory budgeting in Europe will take place with involvement of experts and policy makers from Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Germany. Thirdly, a panel discussion on the public engagement and innovations in local municipalities will take place.
