PROVIDUS senior policy analyst in the areas of asylum and migration, involved in national and international research projects. Ieva’s research interests are related to voluntary and forced migration, development and implementation of immigration and integration policies, intercultural communication, discrimination and intolerance.
Ieva’s previous professional experience includes research and teaching at the University of Latvia where she also headed Master’s programme in Cultural and Social Anthropology. Most recently, Ieva established and managed a social enterprise The Hummus Team, employing people with refugee and alternative status in Latvia. She has also been involved in advocacy for refugee rights at the NGO I Want to Help Refugees (Gribu palīdzēt bēgļiem).
Ieva holds an MA degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University and MPhil and DPhil degrees in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford.
