The purpose of this biannual report is to analyze the corruption situation and anticorruption measures in Latvia on a regular basis. This second issue of the report is a collection of factual information on the most important anti-corruption policy events of the second half of 2005, as well as an overview of criminal cases initiated and investigated by the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (CPCB). Moreover four expert articles cover the assessment of CPCB performance, court practice in cases of bribe taking, preconditions for effective asset declaration of natural persons, and problems and prospects for the regulation of political conflicts of interest.
